October 28th = Sexy

October 28th at The Florida Theater in Jacksonville will be lit up like mad when the premier of Gore-e-ography: The Making of Death Harmony premiers.  Killacozzy and Mad Cowford have come together in that "right now" sort of way to create a masterpiece that includes improv, film, filmmakers, ninjas, vampires, zombies, and choreography.  Killacozzy has a way with their movies and their fans.  They don't just sit around and peddle DVD's or hope someday someone who matters will find their movies and want to mass produce them or create national recognition for them.  No, they just do their thang.  And, they do it sexy!

Last year was the premier of Chiaroscuro, Baby.  This movie was also premiered at The Florida Theater.  This was not the typical new filmaker's attempt at getting people to see their movie.  This was red carpet madness.  Did I say red carpet?  Like in Hollywood?  Yes.  Yes, I did.  There were limos and fancy clothes.  There were blinding lights, cameras, and news channels.  It was the event of 2009.

This year, Anthony Kilburn, the co-founder of KillaCozzy Productions, is doing it AGAIN!  Their most recent film is going to be decked out in high class style very similairly to Chiaroscuro, Baby.  There will be free drinks (alcoholic), free food, and free parking for ticket holders.  The red carpet will lead directly into the party of the century.  There will again be fancy clothes, and some people may even show up in costume (as a ninja, vampire, or zombie).  The press is gonna love it.  I'm gonna love it.  Nothing like this ever happened where I lived before and I never would have guessed Jacksonville would have such style when it comes to struggling actors, artists, filmmakers, etc.

The tickets are $35 and everyone should get one because this stuff doesn't happen anywhere else...other than the obvious...and how many of us would actually be able to go to one of Hollywood's famous dress-up nights?  Not many, is the answer.

This is gonna be the sex!

My "no-longer-irrational-love of bendy straws" and shuman-ing

Yes, I love bendy straws.  Make fun.  Jest.  I don't care.  You may prefer to drink from a dirty, nasty aluminum can or spread your germs on the rim of a glass, but not me!  I love using straws.  They also prevent objects larger than the diameter of the straw from getting into your mouth.  I'm indifferent on wether they are they stripey kind or the solid color kind.  I cannot stand, however, the kids' fun straws.  They are way to long to fit securely in any...ANY glass, can, or bottle.  Yet, children love them.  They'll understand when they're older.  Plus, cleaning those things is a pain in the bottom.  Yes, I said "bottom."  Now onto other thangs....

(previous section is partially credited to Tim DeMoor for encouraging me to write about the subject matter)

Now onto Shumaning!  Matt Shuman, star of Gore-e-ography:  The Making of Death Harmony, is only 45 IMDB "likes" away from Ben Affleck!!!  45?!  Are you kidding?!  The Mad Cowford Improv show Friday night at Northstar Substation was a real laugh-riot, encouraging the audience to participate in this IMDB challenge.  There was even a game dedicated to Matt Shuman.  The whole night was full of laughs and cries (from hysterical laughter).  It was also full of the best pizza in Jacksonville, beer (Woodchuck pear is my favorite even if it may not officially be classified as a beer.), liquor, and SKITTLES' FISH BOWL!!!!  A delectable taste-sensation of liquor and Skittles in a, yes, fish bowl.  In addition to be amazingly wonderful on my tongue, I got a bendy-straw out of it!  Friday nights are always full of perfection due to the combination of so many forms of awesomeness colliding.

After the show, there was an explosion on the IMDB account.  EXPLOSION! Shumanisms are on the horizon.  ...And, so are zombies, ninjas, and vampires.  Why?!  Because the mostest, greatest, fantastic party of the year is coming up October 28th at the Florida Theater:  The premier of Gore-e-ography:  The Making of Death Harmony.  This event will be so kick-ass.... just so kick-ass....  THAT MUCH KICK-ASS!  Ticket purchase includes: drinks (alcoholic), food (sushi?), live band (music), costume contest (zombie, ninja, vampire optional/or, formal attire...guys that means tuxedos...gals that means glam-it-up!), and the first time the world will ever view Gore-e-ography starring Matt Shuman and so many other very incredibly talented and funny people.  www.gore-e-ography.com is selling tickets along with other people who are involved in the movie.  The cost is cheaper when purchased through a person.  I can hook ya up if you want.

That's all for now.

Matt Shuman vs. Ben Affleck (The IMDB "LIKE" challenge)

Jacksonville's very own Matt Shuman has challenged the famous Ben Affleck to an "Out-'LIKE'" contest on IMDB.  This local actor/improver/baby-whisperer/bunny-enthusiast has decided to see just how many IMDB "LIKES" he could get on his page.  The idea to go up against Ben Affleck, actor-to-actor, was born.  Mr. Affleck started yesterday with 253 "LIKES" and Mr. Shuman with approximately 20 "LIKES".  Today Mr. Affleck sits at 255, and Mr. Shuman is over 100!  The goal, from my understanding is to top Affleck's "likes" by Friday (Sept. 10th) at 10:15 p.m.  Shuman will be performing at Northstar Substation with MadCowford Improv at 8 p.m. After the show, Shuman fans will celebrate his victory over the completely unaware Ben Affleck.

This whole IMDB "LIKE" battle is full of fun and excitement.  Technology has proven to be a valuable tool to the success of unknown talents.  To see the amount of progress made in Shuman's behalf over a period of just hours, is incredible.  Jacksonville should be pumped up about the possibility of own of their own getting more IMDB attention than a famous movie star.  Jacksonville is here and bursting with tons of talented people!

Special note to Ben Affleck from the blog author:  You rock!  <---Which is probably why you were chosen.  We thank you (though unaware) for your cooperation.
